I won a Blog Giveaway!!!

Like I said in my previous post I'm a blogaholic. Not so much writing them (slacker) but reading them. One of my favorites is My Favorite and My Best...Jenny is f*&%ing hilarious.

So MFAMB (what her BFF's call her) posted about her Atlanta Blog Meet up.....which I was insanely jealous of. One of the best things about blogs is learning about other blogs through them..and enter Raina from If the Lampshade Fits.

Raina is second from the left...so jealous of their meetup!
And here is what i won!!!!!

That's right!!!!! She is going to help me turn my Formal Living Room into a Library-ish Study. So I will still be able to entertain/serve cocktails in there but M can work in there too. I'll keep the Juliska blue color scheme but she will help me move M's desk into there and style it up!!!!!

So in short.... She will help me add these two rooms together! Thank you Raina! I'm so excited!!!!

WTF are Southern Bourbon Mountains?

I read about 30 blogs a day. When I tell people this they think I am 1. crazy and 2. that I am a slacker at work. The truth of the matter is most blogs only update with 1 post a day so it doesn't take that long to read...and I read them with my cocktail in hand to detox from work. I realized I had a million opinions and wanted to share them with the World (aka my blogger friends that care what I'm saying).
So back to my title...
I love all things Southern. Its become a cliche these days but I absolutely love the South. I was born in New Orleans but raised in Asheville, NC. My entire family is from Nola so my parents carried their bayou roots up to the mountains when they decided to raise their daughter in the boonies.
I'm not sure if there is a secret connection but so many people from New Orleans summer in the mountains of North Carolina. Strangely enough I met many New Orleans friends through summer camp at Rockbrook in Brevard. I was a third generation camper following in my Aunt's and Grandmothers' footsteps. The mountains are lush, green, and incredibly peaceful.
Then there comes Bourbon. Do you know that feeling when you have your first cocktail after a stressful day? You make it a little strong and you feel it flow through your bloodstream slowly relaxing each and every part of your body instantly? Oh yes you do. You are thinking of making a toddy while you are reading this blog.
So that's me in a nutshell. Here are some images to help you understand....
WTF are Southern Bourbon Mountains? Feast your eyes on these........

This was our home in New Orleans, a typical Shotgun.

A few too much of this once..

WHO DAT say de gonna beat dem SAINTS!?

I have been a Saints fan since the day I was born. Archie Manning was the quarterback in 1980 and then we had Hebert, Everett, Collins (yikes) Brooks (awful) and after Katrina rocked the city we got someone named Drew Brees. AKA my one true love.

But before Brees, Shockey, Meachem, Thomas, and Sharper....we were the Aints. And we were the Aints forever. My Dad's buddies would bring us paper bags on Sundays for the game. We were TERRIBLE!

When the Carolina Panthers came to the NFL in 1995 my Dad swore we would remain Saints fans....and we did.

It is impossible to believe it happened. There are even Boudreaux jokes about if the Saints won the Superbowl Hell would freeze over.

Well it happened, and it could not have happened to a better city. Just a few shots of the amazing Saints that made my season this year.
