Prayer Request

I am very blessed by my network of Mom friends here in Charlotte. I have met so many wonderful families and adorable kids and I feel so lucky that F is going to grow up surrounded by such great people.

One of these children is having surgery today at Duke and I wanted to post a few prayers.  If you come across this post today please say a prayer for Banks Buckner.

Thank you.

Almighty God our heavenly Father, graciously comfort your servant Banks in her suffering, and bless the means made use of for her cure. Fill her heart with confidence that, though at times she may be afraid, she yet may put her trust in you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Strengthen your servant Banks, O God, to do what she has to do and bear what she has to bear; that, accepting your healing gifts through the skill of surgeons and nurses, she may be restored to usefulness in your world with a thankful heart; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health; Comfort and relieve your sick servant Banks, and give our power of healing to those who minister to her needs, that she may be strengthened in her weakness and have confidence in your loving care; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Super Bowl Sunday!

I kind of love Ray Lewis. I know I know...but still.

Usual gameday attire for me. (This was back in December 2009 when the Saints were killing it)

Well, the Saints aren't playing this weekend but the game is in their city! I'll be wearing my Black & Gold to a friend's Super Bowl party Sunday but until then here is something hilarious I found off Pinterest (Because apparently I am too lazy to blog original content this week) Fail me. These are a little out of date but still quite funny.

Go Ravens!

Happy New Year*

*Oops. Its like January 24th. Sorry about that! The luxury of having minimal followers and not getting paid to do this means I can take a month vacation.

Here is a quick recap of the past month!

Christmas Parties Galore! We had a fabulous time in Asheville with the entire family. I'm kicking myself for not getting a huge group shot (my favorite thing to do) but we were too busy enjoying ourselves.

NYE in Raleigh with my BFF and Roommate from College. Her son is ADORABLE!

January Playdates...we need somewhere to use up the energy these kids have!

And my resolutions. Resolutions are pretty stupid but I have promised myself to try to live healthier in 2013.

Meaning:
1. I need to get 30 minutes of exercise 4 days a week.
2. Make sure I'm taking Fish Oil and Red Yeast Rice every day.
3. Less Soft Drinks (Still failing at this)
4. Less Alcohol (Still really failing at this)
5. Spend more time phone free. I'm attached to my phone and starting at 5 each day I'm going to put it in the Kitchen and not use it again until 8. 3 hours of untethered son and husband time.
6. I really want to go to Church more. With Football season ending I have no excuse not to get out of the house on Sundays.
7. Be more involved in the Community. When I lived in Florida I was in Junior League, the West Palm 100, Young Friends of the Norton...etc...etc. I haven't joined a single thing in Charlotte besides Young Friends of the Mint (which I believe expired). I'm not sure about the Junior League with my work schedule but I would love to volunteer for a cause that means something to me. Researching ways on how I can get involved.
8. Live with LESS. I am in the process of decluttering my home and life. It feels amazing to throw so much stuff away and I hope by this summer to be done!

So long story short I'm back! I'm trying to live a cleaner healthier life this 2013 and also promise to post more!

Rainy Day Outfit

What we are doing right now. (HA!) I asked him to take my picture and he locked me out of the house. Hilarious M, hilarious.

So what are you wearing today? I get this question all the time. (Stop sexting me Brett Favre!) Mostly because of my insane fashion sense, but honestly because M cannot believe I leave the house like I do. I work from home so why get dressed up for Daycare right? I'm pretty sure the other Moms either think I'm homeless or an Muppet Olsen twin.

I wanted to share with you what I was wearing today in this bleak dreary rainy weather that we have had since Monday. And if you Pin it or tweet it please make sure you link it back to my blog so everyone knows where this stellar contribution came from.

Green Long sleeve 100% cotton Pi Beta Phi Christmas Cocktail 1999 shirt (I have the pictures upstairs...I think it put us on probation for the bathroom incident), pink polka dot Gap Pajama Pants from 1997 (similar here), Cashmere socks (that's right), LL Bean Boots, Monogram necklace from here, Red hair by Kristen here, and no shame courtesy of working from home, lousy weather, and lack of sleep (thanks two year old molars)

And my rainy day accessories? Blue Marmot PreCip Jacket I bought when I moved to Florida in 2003 (no longer waterproof) want another one but not wild about colors.. Black & Gold umbrella from Deb Season as an invite to a party. (Also seen at our Wedding). And just in case you want to know, underneath this sensational getup is this.
